My trip to the Seychelles was nothing more than magical! Staying at The H Resort Seychelles was just what we were looking for as a couple on our Honeymoon – a beautiful, private, luxury and relaxing resort. It was a special trip for us as we were getting married in the Seychelles and The H Resort blew us away – we had an amazing time with so many wonderful memories, the resort looks beautiful in pictures but once you are there it is even more amazing! Trying to bring all my favourite bits of the trip is going to be hard as there were so many, but I will try my best to paint my experience ๐Ÿ™‚ As a couple I highly recommend this slice of paradise! If you are looking at getting married in Seychelles stay tuned for my next post.

Bookings and Flights

We booked our flights with Emirates – flying straight from Dubai, the flight time is 4 hours or just under. The H Resort Seychelles booking we made was through Agoda.

Airport Pick Up and Island Tours/ Transport

The Mahe airport is about 30 minutes from The H Resort, and I recommend that you book in advance before arriving for airport pick up – Patrick was our go to guy for transport he even took us on an amazing tour of the island in his taxi, which I highly recommend. He can communicate with you through Watsapp and agree on a price, which is great when you are abroad, his direct number is: +248 2570440. Or you can also book an airport pick up directly through the hotel.

The H Resort Beau Vallon Beach Seychelles

Paradise unparalled – which it certainly is. From the minute you drive up to the hotel everything is beautifully pleasing to the eye and I had to pinch myself – the greenery in particular was something I loved! Located in Beau Vallon, on Mahe Island, this picturesque boutique hotel has been perfectly designed to fit in with the beautiful natural elements of the Seychelles. The 5* hotel is home to a collection of unique villas and suites that simply exude chic opulence, stylish comfort and idyllic bliss. The perfect place to relax in and explore the paradise island. From the minute you walk into the hotel the island’s rich heritage and cultural touches can be seen throughout the hotel. Going into reception really took my breath away, it is so beautiful and ย designed as open plan area, like no other reception I had ever been in. The lovely shells on the ceiling sway in the breeze and this makes the most magical sound. The staff are very friendly and helpful should you have any questions.

We checked into the hotel in the afternoon, checking in was great and we enjoyed the refreshing welcome drinks and we were presented with some spa vouchers. Our room was ready on arrival and it was gorgeous!! It rained during the our first few days in the hotel (even though it was August), but we enjoyed the refreshing change in weather having come from the hot summer in Dubai, and the grounds of the hotel are lovely to walk around in – with plenty of umbrellas handy should it start to rain.

The Room at the H Resort Beau Vallon Beach Seychelles

We booked a Garden Suite, which is on the ground floor and has a terrace that overlooks into the garden. It was lovely but we actually prefered to be on a higher floor to enjoy the covered balcony view, so we changed to a Junior Suite on the first floor, which I recommend. The rooms are gorgeous and designed to express the Seychellios heritage, the size of the rooms are perfect and have a large and comfortable king size bed with a canope, chaise lounge and a table that sits two in the room. There is plenty of storage too, we had two wardrobes and we loved the complimentary tea and kettle in the room – we enjoyed many cuppas on the balcony sitting on the wonderful sofa listening to the tropical rain, and soaking in the exquisite view!

The bathroom is super dreamy and open plan with a blissful rain shower, free standing bath, toilet and his and her sinks, and great toiletries – Elemis, which is one of my favourites. In addition to the rooms, there are sixteen exclusive beach villas, that look straight on to the ocean, all with a private pool, cabana and direct access to the beach – next time I would love to stay in one of these!

Romantic Elements

We had informed the hotel that it was our wedding and honeymoon trip, and they surprised us with some romantic decorations in the room – candles, rose petals and some lovely towel swans, as well as a delicious sponge cake! So if your staying at the hotel during a special occasion and want to surprise your loved one, the hotel will definitly make it extra special for you!

The Pool and Beach

The pool was blissfull, a lovely infinity pool that sits around the lush greenery – great for tanning, and we enjoyed the sunbeds slightly submerged in the water. However, the pool is not heated so getting in can take some time as the water is pretty cold, but once your in it is so worth it! The beach is directly next to the pool and has sun loungers. The Beau Vallon beach itself is a public beach and you can walk all the way round the beach area and pass neigbouring hotels – I recommend walking on the whole beach, as further down there is a little buzzing market and a few other resturants. Everywhere you look, there is also wonderful lush greenery and mountains.

We loved the beach! The hotel also provides guests with small boats and Kayaks (free of charge) – this was a fun experience, and we paddled in the boat for two – which is see-thru. We also enjoyed endless drinks by the pool and beach – the hotels cocktail and juice menu is great (oh how I wish I could be back on the beach drinking a fresh coconut). I recommend the Pina Colada, fresh Coconut and Passion Fruit drink – perfectly refreshing.

In total there are seven different dining restaurants at the hotel. We dined in most of them however, we didn’t book a half board package but next time I definitly would as we ate at the hotel for the majority of the time as it was so good! Our overall dining experience at the hotel was one that we loved – everything we ate was delicious and of a 5* standard, we could not have asked for anything better! A great tip is to check out the hotel’s website as all the menus are listed there.

The main dining restaurant at the hotel, with a wondeful open plan experience. Serving breakfast buffet and themed dinner buffets – we enjoyed long and relaxing breakfasts at Vasco’s overlooking the beach, which was our favourite table. The buffet and live stations feature an infusion of international and Creole cuisines. At breakfast the egg station was great and we enjoyed our fresh omelettes. The overall selection was perfect – fresh fruits, hot cooked breakfast, Arabic breakfast, fresh pastries, bread, juices, cereals and even mimosas!

The evening buffet is just as enjoyable – we only went to the buffet on the Seafood night as we are huge fans. There was a great selection of dishes, including Creole dishes, which I loved trying as they have so much flavour. A nice touch was the fresh pizza station where you can ask the chef to make your own creation.

Trader Vics

I am a huge fan of Trader Vics in Dubai, and it was so nice to experience Trader Vics in Seychelles, especially when it has such a wonderful view over the water and terrace. Just like true Trader Vics style, free Salsa classes are held at the restaurant for guests and a live band plays daily. The vibes were amazing and so was the food and drinks (which they are famous for)! The French Polynesian theme of the restaurant is also reflected in the menu and we loved everything we ordered – all cooked to perfection. We ordered some delicious drinks to start, as well as Maui Waui Shrimps and Tuna Poke salad.

For the main course we ordered Roasted Half Chicken and New York Strip Steak – where you can choose a sauce and two sides, we recommend the chimichurri sauce. To finish off our delicious meal we had Banana Fritters and Chocolate Island Paradise – perfect for those with a sweet tooth. We loved the whole Trader Vics experience and it is a must visit restaurant if you are staying at the resort and even elsewhere on the island.

We enjoyed our wedding celebratory dinner at Eden.ย Nestled between the luscious greenery of the gardens and the beach, Eden is a hub of gastronomic experiences. Both romantic yet authentic, it serves a delicious selection of mouthwatering and fresh seafood and prime cuts of meat from the BBQ. I loved the traditional decor and the cool sea breeze. It was the perfect choice for us to celebrate and the food was great. We had lovely welcome drinks and I loved the mango and prawn cocktail salad. The presentation of the food was nice and we had Captain Blanc Fish Fillet (which I highly recommend), chicken in cinnamon and coconut milk, and lamb chops for the main. Complemented by the coconut mousse for desert. One of my favourite dinner experiences at the hotel.

Located right next to the pool and beach, Ripples is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed lunch or early dinner. Highly recommend the grilled red tuna steak if you are a fan of seafood and the ginger chicken strips.

Set in the lobby area of the hotel, 1502 serves food and drinks throughout the day and has a nice bar. If you want to try some traditional Creole food then I recommend their Octopus curry it was amazing! We also loved their pizzas, The H Resort Seychelles really knows how to make great pizza!

Seyshima was another dining option, which looked amazing but we never had dinner there. However, if you get the chance it looks gorgeous – right on the lagoon.

The Grounds and Other Hotel Facilities

Just leisurely walking around the grounds of the hotel is lovely there is so much to see especially around the lagoon, and I am sure you will spot a few snails if it has just been raining. Checking out the mist on top of the mountain is also pretty impressive. The hotel has a wonderful gym, tennis court, ping pong table area, a large outdoor chess board and a few other outdoor activities. The Sensel Spa looked wonderful, but even with the vouchers we found that the spa was quite expensive compared to spa prices in Dubai.

If you are looking for a memorable 5* paradise experience, honeymoon or romantic getaway in the Seychelles then The H Resort Beau Vallon is the perfect choice! Even as a boutique hotel, there are plenty of dining options for all tastes, leisure areas, wonderfully green surroundings and a beautiful beach. We could not have asked for a more amazing honeymoon, we thank everyone at The H Resort for making our trip extra special and we can’t wait for our next visit!
